Yeah, I think if I were a small critter or bird and saw that hawk I’d be hiding, too! I’m glad he stayed long enough for you to both enjoy him and take that pic. Nature is truly awe-inspiring.

I live 1 mile from downtown in St. Paul, walking distance to most anything urban, and I have seen deer, opposum, fox, and wild turkeys in close proximity. Of course, they are joined by the proverbial pigeon who I’m told come back to roost because of the smell they leave behind! Yuck!

How funny to read this blog when I just took a picture of a hawk in my back yard. My girls were getting ready for school and had me come look – they realized it was a hawk before I did. I’ve never seen one in the wild before and to think he was in my suburban tree. Wow.

Even better…. when he flew off, he had prey in his talons so you really saw him in action. My girls felt sorry for the poor mouse…
