Instead of watching TV when I’m trying to relax I surf the web. Sometimes I use StumbleUpon and sometimes I just surf a topic. This was a Stumble night (last night). The music sites were the ones that caught my eye. Hoping you might like them too.
First was Odd Instrument. Their latest post shows a Sea Organ in Croatia. There were steps built leading into the ocean and they devised a way to put pipes into each step. As the waves splash across the steps, they play the organ. No joke, it sounds like a pipe organ! You can see it, read about it, and even listen to a sample of the music made by nature there, by going to this post.
The idea of nature making music is not new (well we all listen to sea shells yes? lol). Here is an aeolian wind harp – you can also listen to it and see it. The aeolian dates back to ancient Greece. Very cool.
Do you like lists? Do you love music? This site combines both. I am always looking for music sites. I tired of Pandora although it’s a neat site, the music is limiting. I Twitter so I found out about Blipfm. Cool site, but again, you type in an artist or song, you can’t be surprised. I like to be surprised. Takes me back to the old days when you never knew what song was going to be on the radio. Of course that is also back to the day when radio music was worth listening to. But I digress.
Tonight I was browsing and found Nutsie.com. Maybe an odd name for a music site but maybe not! It’s really an iTunes related site. Hundreds of lists like 100 best from every year, 100 best guitar songs, punk rock songs, blues, metal, soul, christmas songs, classical, you name it, they have 100 of them on a shuffle play list. I had a lot of fun listening and bookmarked it. You can make your own playlist too although we are already doing that on our MP3s.
Anyway, hope you have some fun in your down time this weekend exploring some music! Peace Out – 3C

Great music sites you’ve found. The wind harp is pretty awesome, we have one in our small town of East Liverpool that is pretty cool to hear play.

Hi Dave, that’s good to know and closer than the other ones. I found a place where you can buy a residential version of them for your own property: http://www.mohicanwindharps.com/
Thanks!
