Apparently it takes an economic crisis and an upcoming Holiday to speed through some good decisions by our Ohio House. I think the film industry and our film societies et al wanted a 35% tax credit, but at least a 25% credit was approved. I know Michigan has a 35% credit, but what I don’t know is does this lesser amount still give us an in road we need? Now it awaits Governor Strickland’s signature, which was supposed to be a bit of an issue. If you are supporting this, holidays coming or not, now may be the time to contact the Governor to tell him why he should support this.
Next up, the Cuyahoga County land bank idea; it also made it through the House. You can read about both issues, and others, here in Aaron Marshall’s PD article. For background, I wrote about both issues here and here.
Peace Out – 3C
