There is usually a silver lining, and today is a case in point. Blue sky all day. Neighbors out snow blowing and chatting and digging out cars. I thought I’d post a few photos. This first one shows some buried pampas grass that sits on the dividing line between my yard and my neighbor’s to the South of me. The pampas grass is taller than I am (just under 5 ft. here) and you can see how much of it is actually buried.
This is the pathway two wonderful neighborhood young men dug out for me to the front porch (they also did the portion of the driveway from my
car to the street and the sidewalk..I am so glad neighborhood teens are still willing to do this!). You can also see tree branches sticking up from the ground at the bottom right of this photo. This is a very large tree limb that broke off my sweet gum tree during the March 4th ice storm. You can barely see it under the snow!
One more photo (I feel like I’ve invited you to dinner and forced you to look at my home movies lol. But at least you can click off here if you want to
This one shows how much snow is still on the Western portion of my driveway, in front of the car. Let me use it as an example: see the pitch of the snow towards the house? That could melt and go into my basement. Just think if it was your landscaping, or the pitch of your driveway…..more
permanent additions to your yard than this snow. Not good for your foundation and certainly not good in terms of keeping your basement dry. That is why inspectors will give you advice as they examine the exterior of your home about how to landscape and how to pitch a new driveway. In both cases, not towards the house!
Having the sun for an entire day certainly made life better for all of us. I hope you enjoy your first longer day of the season and the rest of your weekend! (Much gratitude to Jay McGuillicuddy, my New Hampshire real estate and word press guru for the tutorial on how to add more than one photo to a post! Jay, thank you!) Peace Out – 3C

Those are great pictures!! Looks like you got more snow than we did. I’m only sad that my youngest was too sick to go in it today.

Yup, nice pics. So, are you saying the land pitch on YOUR home isn’t what the inspectors recommend?
So is your car snowed in behind this drive or in front where the boys shoveled?
I paid some teens on Friday to shovel, but they were no where to be seen after yesterday’s huge amount.

no no the pitch on my home is fine it’s the snow not pitched right here LOL
my car is behind the drifts – so what did you do to get the rest of the snow plowed are you stuck?

My son-in-law came by with their company truck after he finished plowing other commercial lots. (he works for a landscaper). He’s wonderful!
