I wrote this post last week – and you can find the details about the Workshop. The bottom line is, it’s sponsored by Hope Now, an organization with affliates all around the Country, including here. Hope Now is a HUD approved partner. See excerpt below from their website:
HOPE NOW members are committed to minimizing foreclosures. Please click here to see our Servicing Guidelines. If you are a servicer or a HUD approved counseling agency, please contact Eric Selk at help@hopenow.com. This is not a counseling email address. Homeowners please call 888-995-4673 or refer to the servicer hotlines ATTENTION: Individuals, brokers and real estate agents are not part of the alliance.
What: Foreclosure Prevention Workshop
When: November 19th from 2pm to 8pm
Where: CSU Wolstein Center at 2000 Euclid Avenue
If you are upside down in your mortgage, or in danger of becoming upside down, please come to the workshop – the hours are long to accommodate work schedules and many good expertise will be available to you. Remember, knowledge is power, and avoiding the issue of your mortgage/finances won’t help in the long run. Doing something before it’s too late, on the other hand, is the way to go!
Peace Out – 3C

Post script on the event: NHSGC had 5 counselors that were constantly busy from 2pm to 8pm. Cleveland State University did an excellent job of providing space, parking and set up to make our job that much eaiser. There were a ton of Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland staffers directing “traffic”, providing answers and making homeowners who are going through some traumatic stuff, at ease. Having NeighborWorks America (full disclosure, we are a funded NeighborWorks organization) and the HOPE NOW Alliance bring lenders/servicers/counselors/other resources together under one roof, provided for a efficient and productive outreach event.
Finally, if someone was not able to attend, our counselors are still available at 216.458.HOME (4663) or we are able to accept initial intakes online at http://www.nhscleveland.org/intake.
Nothing is worse than doing nothing; whether you are behind, see yourself falling behind, or whether you are someone that can offer assitance, referral or direction to someone that needs help.
Carole, thanks for being someone in that third category.

Lou, you guys offer such a good service. Regardless of what the federal govt does to assist with mortgage relief, local homeowners should heed your words: nothing is worse than doing nothing.
