There is a lot to recommend this week, starting with Been Seen’s feature of the Futuro. Truly Jetson-like, apparently these things were built in the 60′s. I don’t think they fly but would you live in a house like this?
My geeky self watches CSPAN’s Brian Lamb and others interview authors. Have you ever explored BookTV’s website? It’s very high tech, and if you like the TV show, you can watch interviews you have missed on this site.
When I was growing up it was always a treat to go to Zubal’s bookstore on W. 25th Street. The collection of books was dusty but amazingly wonderful. Zubal’s has gone high tech, and has for a while. They do most (if not all?) of their sales on line now. Zubal’s was always the place I called, even when I lived in Maryland, when I was looking for a book and couldn’t find it. Was Zubal’s a wonderful part of your past? You can still shop there on line. Some books may be $200 and up, and some are $4.95. They even have Zubal’s t shirts you can buy lol.
You may have heard that ODOT is considering noise barriers along certain areas of I-71. Gloria Ferris’ community is one of those areas and she blogged about the issue, the meeting scheduled, as well as her thoughts on it. Me? I lived in Rockville Maryland for many years and the noise barriers did not really work. Or let’s put it this way, if you were in some one’s backyard during afternoon traffic, and they had noise barriers, you had to shout to be heard. Not sure what style they are planning here, but, read Gloria’s take on the issue here. So glad to have Gloria blogging again! Peace Out – 3C
