Two Fundraisers For Monroe Cemetery Gatehouse In Ohio City

October 8th, 2007 · No Comments

The Monroe Street Cemetery is the second oldest cemetery in our area. The cemetery’s Gatehouse needs some love, and the Ohio City Historic Heritage Committee has taken on the project. Your $10 admission fee will go a long way to help them. There will be a guided tour, some gossip about famous people buried there and an explanation about the symbolism on various headstones. The date is October 20th and it is from 4 to 6 PM.-  you need to call to RSVP because space is limited: 216-781-3222.

A second benefit for the same event is a Night Out at Johnny Mango’s. If you eat there on OCTOBER 15th 20 percent of the proceeds of your bill will be donated to the Cemetery Gatehouse effort. One caveat: you need this flyer.  It’s a pdf download but you need it to get credit for your participation. And depending on who you talk to, you need it in order TO participate. So download ok lol.  Or if you can’t do a pdf file download easily (it’s a flyer) you can stop at the Ohio City Near West Office before then and pick one up. (They have a killer lime beef salad so I am in on this one!)

Both of these events are for a good cause and should be fun!  Peace Out – 3C

Lots of old headstones in your neck of the woods Moni. Yes I think this time of year cemetery tours are popular anyway. We have an abundance of celebs in many of them. lol
