I may be a bit late to the party on this because it was published on June 20th. But since my work life has been busy, maybe yours has as well. I was surfing the web and found this NYTimes article by Christopher Maag on the rebirth of the Cuyahoga River. From the perspective of someone who lived through the good and the bad of it.
I often think of the times my Dad took me to The Canal to fish. It always looked pretty to me, the tall, brown cattails rising up on the Canal amidst the 12 inches or so of soapy mixture on top of the water. I guess it’s both no wonder and also a good thing that we never caught any fish on The Canal. Thanksfully things are a lot better now. And the NYT’s covers it well in this first hand story.
Peace Out 3C
