Anyone who links to DC Radio TV would be alright in my book, even if John Gorman hadn’t helped WMMS reach it’s creative glory, I’d be a fan of his blog. I never worked in radio, but for some reason have been obsessed with it since I was five. I’m sure there are a bunch of you like that. I’m a geek about DCRTV because I lived in that area for 19 years…..but also because all the gossip gives a glimpse into trends in radio (ok, TV too). Check it out for yourself.
More importantly, if you ever fantasize about being able to turn on the radio and not hear a song repeated for a day, John’s blog is for you. Gorman is getting the word out about his new book, The Buzzard: Inside The Glory Days. Yeah, yeah, I could link to that tropical.com or whatever it’s called, but I prefer to make you go to one of his book signings (local dates and places listed on his blog). Or at least a local book store!
A friend of mine from Alternative Press Magazine clued me in about this with a bomb of a podcast with Gorman. So instead of listening to the dreck on ‘let’s play the same song every two hours‘ radio, put yer feet up and enjoy this podcast. Go to this page and there are a slew of podcasts for you; the Gorman one is #6. It’s long and wonderful (hey, reality shows are long and suck – this is soooo much better so turn the tv off lol). Peace Out – 3C
