Listed one of my ‘for sale’ homes in 44111 for rent late this week.  Had an open house today and many people came, seeking a good house in the neighborhood to rent.  We now have at least three potentially good tenant candidates clamoring over each other to rent the house.  I had a feeling it would be this way after listing a house in 44135 for rent about a month ago.  That rented within a week and dozens of people wanted to rent it.

The ideal ‘market value’ rental for this area is between $750 / month and $850/month. There are homes for rent in the area, but frankly, they are not updated in most ways,  or do not have amenities like central air.  Your home does not have to have everything a renter is looking for.  If it’s updated with no a/c, you are still in a prime position to get it rented (for example).

So there is a lack of good single family rental homes available in these two Cleveland zip codes.  There are many, many people looking to rent.  If you have had your home ‘for sale’ for a while ,  please consider renting it out!  Especially if you are struggling with a mortgage payment each month or carrying more than one mortgage.  Talk to your Realtor® about also listing it for rent, please.

I have to say, only one person will be able to rent my current single family rental  in 44111.  I feel for the others who can’t find a good listing to call home!  Let’s see if we can make a few more people happy while paying your mortgage each month.

You never know, you may find out that keeping it as an investment property for a while might bring you good monies each month and give the market time to increase sale prices of homes.  It’s a possibility!
