I get the Kamm’s Corner ‘e’ newsletter and maybe you do too. Just in case you don’t, a few things stood out for me and maybe for you too.
Sponsored by the City of Cleveland’s Block Grant fund, the program is administered and implemented in Ward 21 by KCDC as our way of contributing to the beauty of our neighborhood’s homes. Paint Program participants receive vouchers for free paint and prep supplies in exchange for agreeing to follow lead-safe work practices. Paint program applications are available now through August 28. For full program details, click here or contact Chris Frohring at 216-252-6559 ext. 1300.
Asphalt Cinema Moves to Impett Park
. See a free movie under the stars at our popular Asphalt Cinema returning for a seventh season on the third Friday of June, July, and August, but at a new location: Impett Park, 3207 West 153rd, behind Warren Village. Added fun this year includes a free music concert before each movie starts. We’ll offer creative games and activities, a bubble gum blowing contest, and refreshments as in the past, starting at 6:30 PM. The first movie, June 19th, is Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, rated PG.
This makes me downright gleeful:
Kamm’s Corners Farmers Market returns June 7th with nearly 30 vendors offering fresh produce and a variety of locally made products! A weekly neighborhood gathering, the market offers live music, chef demonstrations, healthy living features, local artisan spotlights, and horse drawn wagon rides. Our 2008 Farmers Market Volunteer of the Year, Joe Outlaw, is gearing up for the new season with ‘Joe Outlaw’s Walk for the Kamm’s Corners Farmers Market’ and is looking for volunteers to help raise awareness and funds. The walk will begin at the KCFM municipal lot on Sunday, May 31. Visit www.kcfmwalk.org for more info. To sign up for our Farmers Market, e-newsletter, click here.
The streetscaping is not complete, and you know when construction and road improvements are being made, the curb appeal of local business suffer (just think Euclid Avenue Corridor in this regard). Let’s not abandon our local merchants click here for details.
Peace out – 3C
