How Much Home Can You Buy For $100,000 in South Euclid?

February 20th, 2008 · No Comments

Have always had a soft spot in my heart for Cleveland Heights and South Euclid and so I’m adding So Euclid to my series of posts on What You Can Buy for $100,000 in……‘  South Euclid became a village in 1917 and a City in 1941. Depending on where you live in that community, your kids’ designated school system is either South Euclid/Lyndhurst or Cleveland Heights/University Heights. There are about 25k people living in this community. I found it interesting to read on the South Euclid website that according to the last census, the median age is 38.

Anyway, here is the scoop- there are currently 369 homes available in South Euclid and 12 are listed between $99k and $100k.  I picked a few with a variety of home styles:

Pretty aluminum sided colonial on Princeton with 1,282 square ft of living space finished and 624 ft unfinished (probably the third floor walk up attic the description mentions). It has 3BRs, 1 1/2 baths and a one car garage. It has a/c, it’s fenced, with shiny wood floors (the photos show the floors and they look recently redone), a fireplace and a pretty kitchen. This home also has a finished family room on the lower level. It is listed at $99,000.

Next up is a stone bungalow on Maplegrove listed at $99,900. It has 1,227 sq feet of living space, 3BRs, 2 full baths and a two car garage. The kitchen is not huge but big enough to have an ‘eat in’ section. The second floor features a master bedroom (18×18) with a full master bath.

There is a brick/aluminum ranch home on Verona with 3Brs, one bath and a one car garage. It has a/c, a patio in yard, a finished rec room in the basement and 1,129 sq feet of living space. This one has a dining room as well. It’s listed for $99,900

Last up is a colonial on Westdale. This one has 1,635 sq feet of living space and is renovated while keeping some of the original details intact.  An example of this is the kitchen cabinetry, those tall pine cabinets.  Now freshly painted but they look great in the photo. The breakfast nook has cool archways, the dining room has built-ins. This is a 3BR one bath home with a/c, a one car garage and an enclosed patio. This home is listed at $100,000.

Since I started doing this series of posts one thing struck me again, the fact that there are so many homes on the market yet some agents are not taking photos of the interiors.  Out of these 12 there were two without photos. I can’t help but think since most people look for homes to browse on line they have every reason to pass up the ones without interior shots.  Oh well.  Peace out – 3C

    Hi C,
When I was 13, we moved from Mayfield Hts. to South Euclid. We lived by Cedar-Green, with a nice view of Notre Dame. Great streets.
A freind of mine is looking for a house in SE. She told me that most of the ones she has looked at are in foreclosure, and a real train wreck. Should i hook her up with you, to help?

Cedar Green puts you walking distance to Geraci’s that can never be bad lol. Thanks Mr. Joel and sure, have your friend call me anytime!

C, Don’t be calling me a Ned Negative, but I am done with Geraci’s. Portion control by ownership is disappointing. They bought smaller plates, and bowls. They be getting cheap with portions, and be getting expensive at the same time…
