A few months ago I purchased a spiffy new cell phone, the LG Voyager. It’s the first phone I’ve had that I’m absolutely in love with, but I digress……when I opened the box, one of the items Verizon included was a mailing bag with ‘Cell Phones For Soldiers’ information on it. It said that all I needed to do was to put my old cell phone in the bag and seal it and drop it in the mail. I first went to their website to make sure it existed and it does. You can read about it here. I just found an older cell phone in a drawer and want to send that one off too.
What reminded me about this was info on Yahoo! today about all the old gadgets we have sitting around collecting dust. What to do with them? Well at the EcoGeek site is the article explaining how the US Postal Service is now setting up recycling centers and taking all your old gadgets like MP3 players and yes cell phones too. I wanted to offer the Cell Phones For Soldiers alternative. I’m going to have to go through more drawers to see what else I can recycle. Peace Out - 3C
