Our real estate multiple listing service surprised us with a new feature, the ability to give us totals by county for home sales. So I am doing a year-to-date and then a separate April report (the last month they have covered so far) for Cuyahoga County in 2008. The drill is the same, these are homes listed with area brokerages and that is why they show up on our computer listing service.
So far this year, 12, 280 homes were listed for sale in Cuyahoga County. 3,329 of these homes were listed for sale in April. For the first quarter of 2007, there were 13,346 homes listed for sale.
The average sale price for Cuyahoga homes was $115,236 in April ($135,973 in April of ’07). The average sale price for all homes during the first quarter of ’08 was $112,301, compared to $138,914 in 2007.
This April, there were 1,023 homes sold in Cuyahoga County, compared to 973 homes sold in April of ’07. Year-to-date, there have been 3,417 homes sold (and there were 3,498 sold in 2007′s first four months).
