I’m thinking at least it will have a positive effect on our ‘brain drain’ issue. There was an article in Crain’s Cleveland last week, written by Shawn Turner. Our median income may be around $27k but, law firms seem to be doing something good: increasing starting salaries for new hire attorneys. They (law firms) are trying to compete successfully with NYC and LA firms. Not every firm is following suit of course, but that’s not the issue that is now circling in my brain.
Here is my question to all of you: if we want to keep improving our branding as a high tech locale, doesn’t that also mean our salaries need to be competitive in that area as well? Does anyone know if this is true? Inquiring minds (well mine, anyway) want to know. I emailed Shawn Turner to see if he is doing a follow up on other industry salaries in our area
Peace Out 3C
