Cleveland Housing Trends: Is There A Texas Connection?

February 19th, 2008 · No Comments

longhorn.jpgI’m only one Realtor® , but am wondering if there is a trend and if so why? Lately I’ve had calls, referrals or email inquiries from people in Texas looking to move here. And it’s not limited to one city. I’ve had talks with people from San Antonio, Dallas, Austin and Houston.  Only one seemed to have a family connection here. All but one contact (and I’ve had seven in a month) were people looking to buy a home. The last one was an email from someone who is going to be working for Hopkins and was inquiring about a town house I have listed in Puritas Park (a popular ‘home’ for airport or airline workers).  This is not something I would have predicted or expected. It still amazes me, in a good way, how people really are moving to NE Ohio.  And btw, none of these calls were from students.

I’m going to add some listing information to Craig’s List  in various Texas cities and I’m thinking, if you have a business and are looking for employees, you might want to do the same? Just sayin’.   Peace Out – 3C

No such interest down here. Mine are coming from CA and CO. The only thing we get from TX is their weather patterns.

Hi Elaine lol about the weather patterns. I had someone tell me why would I post to craigslist when someone who wants to move wont be looking in texas but will be looking here or wherever – Im saying post there because someone may have two job opportunities or not be sure if they want to move but considering it….I know at times in my life I have been checking out various cities at the same time; what do you think?

I’m not sure that I would bother to post in another city since there’s no one place that I notice they come from. However, if a new business was going to be relocating here where transferees would be looking for homes, I might. I guess I tend to be in the camp that they would search for homes in the place they’re going TO rather than coming FROM.
