What kind of good energy do we have flowing economically in NE Ohio? It’s not all gloom and doom, thank the gods. Let’s start with Mary Vanac’s news in today’s PD about a $350k investment by Jump Start that went to a local company called Tursiop Technologies LLC. Tursiop was given the money to develop a new MRI coil system. The money came from Jump Start but the invention came from someone at Tursiop. And this is not just a monetary investment in a product. Because of it, Tursiop is going to open up a location on Cedar Avenue. Good news. After all, NE Ohio has a long history of creative people, inventions and patents.
Next is a story from Scott Suttell in Crain’s about a OEConnection LLC, a local automotive software company just hired by GM for their web-based and National auto fleet maintenance program. By National I mean it’s going to be used by the more than 1,000 dealerships across the Country.
Next up, and back to the medical field, a 6/17 article in Crain’s by Chuck Soder. He reports that Phillips Healthcare in Highland Heights is manufacturing two new CT scanners that could lead to more jobs in NE Ohio.
Last, Timken received a $3.8 million contract from China to make bearings for one of the largest steel producers in China.
There were more articles in Crain’s but these were highlights from the free, on line version and I wanted to make sure everyone could read them.
Peace Out -3C

We need to keep this momentum going. Cleveland can be a much bigger tech hub than the country realizes. It’s time to make them realize it and make it happen.

I agree Joe! Sometimes I wonder if we don’t need citizen press releases to go out to tech and other companies around the country. Maybe we could all adopt five and convince them they need satelite offices here. Thanks for your comment.
